Junior Camp
Junior Camp is for campers entering Kindergarten (Unit A), 1st (Unit B), 2nd (Unit C) grade, and 3rd (Unit D) in the Fall of 2025.
Camp activities are designed and taught to be developmentally appropriate, taking advantage of a camper's maturation and expanding skill set as they progress through the units. The specials activity period ensures each camper rotates through all activities in order to expand their interests under the guidance of a specials teacher. Unit activities are run by the unit counselors and, at times, may be generated from the campers’ suggestions, interests, and experiences. In our relaxed environment, Junior campers delight in having the freedom to pursue a special interest, as well as the opportunity to develop a new one.
The activity descriptions and a sample schedule for each age group can be found in the tabs below. Schedules are tentative and subject to change; activities can be removed, added or exchanged as necessary.

Swim Instruction
Green Acres Camp is so lucky to have a pool right on our campus! Our pool has a shallow end with a multiple-step entrance, which allows our younger swimmers to comfortably enter and stand in the pool.
Because we want campers to develop a love of swimming, we do not require children to do anything other than to dress in their bathing suits and come to the pool.
While in the pool, campers will engage in a series of group games and activities. These are specifically designed to help campers gain pool safety and swim skills throughout the summer.
Green Acres Camp follows guidance from the American Red Cross regarding thunder/lighting safety for outdoor pools. We also follow all guidance from local and state governments as they apply to outdoor activities and our pool throughout the summer.
Outdoor Play
Ask any Green Acres camper, and they’ll be excited to tell you all about our expansive playgrounds! With castles, tractors, swings, monkey bars, and slides, the fun never has to end!
Our playgrounds are perfect for the summer season, offering both sunny spots and plenty of shaded areas. Counselors love joining in on the fun but also provide opportunities for campers to enjoy free play with friends.
Weekly Themes & Specials Events
Everyone looks forward to something special each week, and Green Acres does not disappoint! From Super Hero Day to Halloween Day , our spirit days are always fun!
In addition to spirit days, camp holds a number of special events including: the Fourth of July parade, unit special days, and a staff vaudeville show at the conclusion of camp. You can be sure to hear campers sharing about these exciting programs in addition to their already fun-filled days!
Unit Choice Time
Each day, your camper’s counselors will create fun and unique projects, games, and activities for a special part of our day called “Unit Choice Time.”
Campers always look forward to this time, as it adds a fresh, exciting twist to every camp day! You can expect them to come home each afternoon with new stories and experiences to share.
Young Explorers (Science Special)
Kaleidoscope (Arts & Crafts Special)

Through a series of interactive games and exercises, they'll build confidence and learn the art of thinking on their feet.
Rhythm and Movement (Music Special)
Get ready to groove to the beat and feel the joy of making music. This exciting activity is designed to be a fun and engaging introduction to the world of rhythm and movement. Whether you're a budding musician or a dance enthusiast, this class offers a taste of various musical genres and dance styles.
Sports Stars (Athletics Special)
Gully (Morning Meeting)
Our outdoor amphitheater, known fondly as “Gully,” is a perfect place to begin the day. Arriving campers are welcomed by fun-loving camp staff who guide them to their units and entertain them with songs, games, jokes, and skits. Campers enjoy watching their counselors be silly and can join them on stage if they wish. Birthdays are celebrated in Gully with individual crowns and the birthday song. Campers learn many traditional camp songs in Gully and also the beloved “Announcements” chant that campers remember for years to come. At the conclusion of Gully, campers and counselors sing their way to their units to prepare for the day’s activities. In the event of inclement weather, Gully is held inside the main building, in the Big Room.
